Soshu-Kitae blade means that actually different types of steel with varying hardness were used in the forging process and not the same type, as is often strangely seen on the internet. Soshu-Kitae is one of the most complicated blade constructions and is considered particularly high-quality work. In this sword, the core has a hardness of 40-42 HRC. The sides, back, and edge of the blade have a hardness of 58-60 HRC. The layers between the core and side have a hardness of 50-52 HRC. The steel was folded 12 times and the blade was treated with clay hardening. The hamon is of course genuine. Otherwise, only the highest quality materials were used for this sword, such as solid wood for the saya. All fittings are made of metal. The sword is of course suitable for cutting tests.
