Bronze brushes are the ideal compromise between effectiveness and material preservation.

They are designed so that there are no sharp edges that could damage the barrel. When cleaning, they are pushed all the way through the barrel and then, after the bristles have stood up in front of the muzzle, pulled back again.

For each shot, a back-and-forth movement should take place.
