The ECX™ bullet (Extreme Copper Alloy eXpanding) from Hornady is the latest development of a monolithic hunting bullet. Single-piece bullet made from lead-free copper alloy. 95% retained weight with limited deformation allows for very deep penetration even with bone hits. The flat polymer tip helps initiate expansion. By pushing back into the cavity of the bullet, a uniform expansion is created. The grooves on the ECX™ bullet have been optimized to reduce air resistance, resulting in more consistent speed and energy on target. The optimized design provides a flat trajectory and a high degree of precision. Special attention was paid to European needs during development.
