LEE Factory Crimp Dies

With the Factory Crimp Die from LEE, you have the ability to crimp the case mouth of the finished cartridge to secure the bullet in the case. This is important for powerful calibers and semi-automatics. In bottle-neck cases, the first 1-2mm of the case mouth is pressed into the bullet or the crimp groove using a crimp claw. The pressing force can be finely adjusted by changing the die body. It is important to have a uniform and correct case length to ensure consistent extraction resistance. The crimp corresponds to that of a factory cartridge. In cylindrical handgun cases, the case mouth is crimped either with a taper crimp for pistol cartridges or a roll crimp for revolver cartridges. A hardened insert ensures a firm bullet seat, and an additional carbide sizing ring smooths out any raised material. The bullet seat is significantly firmer than with other crimp dies. Even with the strongest magnum revolver loads, the bullets are securely held in the case.
