The internal capacity is similar to that of Winchester cases. The wall thickness at the mouth averages 0.0095 inches.* Note: In firearms with larger chambers, this case may become shorter than desired after fire-forming. Shooters who want a case that is longer than 2.090 inches after fire-forming and neck-sizing should reform the .45-70 case to .40-65, which is a good alternative.
