With the Lyman powder fill and expand die, you can expand the case for bullet seating while simultaneously measuring the powder using an RCBS Uniflow or the Lyman powder measure.
The Lyman powder fill and expand die fits into any single station press and is screwed in like a normal die set. Through interchangeable bushings, the case is expanded, and in the same operation, the powder flows through an opening in the expander pin into the case. The case is not only flared at the mouth but a significantly larger cylindrical funnel is formed. This allows the bullet to slide further into the case and self-align. Misalignment of the bullet during seating is no longer possible, and the produced ammunition has greater roundness accuracy.
