An excellent image at every distance

Many riflescopes with high magnification produce their best images at both ends of the magnification spectrum, while the mid-settings lack clarity and resolution. The VX®-5 was designed from the ground up to deliver the highest image quality across the entire field of view and the full magnification range. 5x Erector system with Twin-Bias springs Our double leaf spring system made from a beryllium-copper alloy withstands the toughest loads.
Built with up to 30 percent more holding power, it prevents play and tension in the erector system.

Pop-Up Re-zero/CDS-ZL2 reticle adjustment with locking

Sight-in the VX-5 is easy and goes like clockwork with the pop-up Re-zero click adjustment, which can be exchanged for a custom reticle adjustment (Custom Dial System). This unique system allows you to sight in your riflescope for the desired load and environmental conditions. The Custom Dial System CDS is individually tailored to your load and is therefore particularly interesting for handloaders (see Leupold video). The new CDS ZL2 reliably prevents unwanted rapid reticle adjustment.

Lead and arsenic-free glass lenses

A unique Leupold feature to influence light transmission to your advantage. Blackened lens edges prevent reflections and stray light. The blackened edges absorb stray light rather than reflecting it. This results in better resolution, contrast, and superior optical performance; regardless of the conditions.

Eyepiece with "Fast Focus" diopter adjustment

The new diopter quick adjustment is extremely fast, so you can have a sharp image ready in any situation in no time. Whether at close or long distances – the diopter adjustment of the VX-5 is smooth, quick, and precise. An Alumina eyepiece guard ring with rubber insert is included with each riflescope.

Leupold second generation waterproofing

Leupold paved the way for the waterproofing that is now considered the industry standard for optical products. The scopes were filled with nitrogen, preventing fogging and moisture ingress. To raise the bar even further, the VX-5 scopes utilize the benefits of second generation waterproofing through an Argon/Krypton gas mixture. The combination of these gases withstands temperature fluctuations more effectively and prevents long-term diffusion from the interior of the riflescope. Waterproofing is guaranteed.
