Starline Cases 6.5mm Creedmoor small rifle primer 100 pieces
This is the version of the 6.5 Creedmoor with Small Rifle Primer. The 6.5 Creedmoor was developed by Hornady in 2007 as a target shooting caliber, but it has also established itself as an extremely popular hunting caliber. Although it is not as long as some other 6.5 calibers with short cartridge cases, such as the .260 Remington caliber, the Creedmoor uses a 30° shoulder and very little taper in the case body to achieve similar ballistic properties. The shorter length also allows for greater versatility in the seating depth adjustment of the bullets. Almost every major firearm manufacturer offers either a bolt-action rifle or a modern semi-automatic rifle in the 6.5 Creedmoor caliber, due to its versatility and inherent precision. The SR6.5CM case uses a Small Rifle Primer. Many target shooters prefer the Small Primer due to the increased consistency and accuracy. While other manufacturers of cases with smaller pockets use a smaller than standard flash hole, Starline uses our standard flash hole of 0.080 inches (approximately 2.03 mm), as we believe it provides better ignition with some slower burning powders and under cooler conditions* (and it does not lead to broken case pins!). The Small Primer version also retains the size of the primer pocket better at higher pressures.* As with all cases of this size with Small Primer Pockets, caution should be exercised when selecting powder and primers in cooler temperatures to avoid hangfires. Single-based powders are generally easier to ignite, and a high-quality primer like the Remington 7 1/2 BR is recommended.
