Hornady GAS-Checks .416 1000 pieces
Gas checks are small tombak cups that are pressed onto the base of cast lead bullets. At the same time, calibration and bullet lubrication are performed. Gas checks are used when a V0 over 450 m/s is achieved. The gas pressures required for this speed generate such high temperatures that the lead would melt. The gas checks are firmly pressed and anchored into the bullet during calibration. This prevents the lead from melting.
