The Aimpoint 6X MAG-1 can be combined with all Aimpoint red dot sights to enable target acquisition and observation even at greater distances. In combination with a simple red dot and a twist mount (folding mount), the user can switch to a 6X magnification with just one hand movement. The 6X MAG-1 allows for a variable diopter adjustment (-3 to +3 diopters) for optimal adaptation to the shooter's eye.

The 6X MAG-1 is also compatible with night vision devices and does not require re-zeroing of the weapon, as it uses the red dot of the previously mounted red dot sight as the reticle.

Aimpoint has primarily developed the 6X MAG-1 for professional/government users. It offers waterproofing up to 25m and operates reliably in temperature ranges from -45 °C to 71 °C.
