The Blaser R8 Ultimate Silence in left-hand configuration combines the latest technical developments from Blaser in a bolt-action rifle: an innovative integral silencer meets a beautifully designed, two-part Ultimate stock.
Primarily, the design of the hunting weapon focuses on protecting the hearing of the hunter and hunting dog. The stock and system are prepared for the attachment of a Blaser integral silencer, which significantly reduces the gunshot noise with a damping performance of 28 dB. Thanks to the evenly distributed mass along the entire barrel, the R8 Silence offers the familiar, top-notch balance and handling that characterizes every R8 model. The outer contour of the barrel and silencer jacket is designed in a stepless "Bull-Barrel" design, giving the R8 Silence both low weight and an exceptionally attractive overall appearance.
The ergonomically optimized Ultimate synthetic stock in left-hand configuration delights both shooters and hunters alike. The stock is divided into a rear and front section and visually matches perfectly with the matte black anodized Blaser R8 system housing. Optionally, a stock comb adjustment can be ordered for an additional charge. The continuously adjustable height adjustment of the stock significantly improves the sighting behavior into the scope. The contact with the stock allows for a repeatably precise, clean position, which is a prerequisite for a safe hit. An adjustable stock pad and a damping system are also available as options. The stock is exclusively made for right-handed shooters in a black-brown color with black elastomer inlays on the pistol grip, fore-end, and cheek piece. Specially impregnated leather grip inlays are offered as an option. The synthetic stock is particularly durable and weather-resistant.
The Blaser straight-pull bolt system enables lightning-fast shot sequences while maintaining a relaxed body posture, without having to put the weapon down. This keeps the shooter's eye and the barrel of the weapon continuously focused on the target. The time gained in target acquisition leads to a safer shot release. The manual safety system is considered one of the best safety systems. No other mechanical safety can provide the security of a relaxed firing pin spring. The R8 is intentionally cocked only immediately before the shot by pushing the cocking slider forward. To relax the system, a light pressure on the cocking slider is sufficient, and it glides back. At the same time, the weapon cannot be unintentionally opened, as the chamber handle is blocked when the bolt is relaxed and locked. If the magazine including the trigger unit is not in the weapon, the R8 cannot be cocked and is thus safe from unauthorized use.
The magazine change is quick and easy with a short press on the two release buttons, which are ideally located above the trigger. The magazine buttons can be locked, preventing unintentional removal of the magazine reliably.
The excellent trigger characteristics of the Blaser direct trigger with only 700 g trigger weight are the perfect prerequisite for a precise shot. The Blaser Atzl trigger system is offered as an option: the trigger weight can be set to either 200 g or 600 g. Retrofitting is possible at the factory.
The modular Blaser principle: Every Blaser R8 bolt-action rifle is freely configurable. There are countless equipment variants that can be individually combined.
The Blaser R8 barrels and chambers are cold forged, making them perfectly concentric. They are characterized by high precision and durability. The barrel surface is plasma-nitrided and blued. The Silence ball barrels are manufactured in the standard barrel contour with a barrel profile of 17 mm at the muzzle in barrel lengths: 42 cm, 47 cm, 52 cm, without sights and with a barrel thread M 15x1.
The caliber selection for Blaser hunting rifles is generally enormous, but the Blaser R8 Silence is limited to the most important calibers. With a Blaser R8, you can hunt any game species on any continent. Blaser distinguishes between different caliber groups: .22 LR, Mini, Standard, Medium, and Magnum. The reason is the modular Blaser principle. The Blaser R8 Silence systems and stocks can be individually combined with different barrel types in various calibers. When changing caliber groups, it is necessary to additionally exchange the locking chamber and possibly the integral silencer. The large-area barrel bedding in the solid system housing ensures that the weapon shoots accurately again after a caliber change. Another advantage: the R8 can be disassembled and reassembled in seconds without changing the point of impact.
