The over-and-under shotgun B 525 Liberty Light is Browning's offering for shooters who are not completely satisfied with stocks in standard sizes. The shotgun with Monte Carlo stock is particularly suitable for female shooters and young marksmen. The legendary original model, the B 25, was manufactured until the late 1970s and was globally appreciated for its robustness and good shooting performance. The good qualities of the B 25 can also be found in today's series.
Action and Lock The action of the Liberty Light is milled from high-strength aluminum, known as Dural. It features an elegant arabesque engraving on the receiver and trigger guard. The mechanics of the lock are also top-notch and absolutely reliable: The shotgun locks via two parallel rear barrel hooks. A wide, flat locking wedge that engages across the entire width into the hooks significantly increases the locking surface and provides additional stability. The high-quality hinge pin with an extra wide diameter of 8 mm also guarantees a long service life. The hammer ejectors operate extremely safely and powerfully. They are based on the design of Holland & Holland, although modern coil springs are used for the hammers.
Safety and Trigger The trigger safety is ergonomically optimally positioned on the stock neck. The safety slider is also responsible for barrel selection. The wide slider is simply moved left or right for barrel selection. The single trigger is controlled via a recoil switch. It releases at a trigger weight of approximately 1500 g without a prior dry fire.
Barrel Set The barrel set of the Browning B 525 Liberty Light is available with a length of 71 cm. The barrel is equipped with a wide 8 mm sight rail that allows for optimal target acquisition. The rail is ventilated, so there is no flickering over the barrel even during high shot sequences. The barrel and chamber are hard chrome plated on the inside, providing optimal rust protection. A special highlight is the Back-Bored barrel technology. The shotgun barrel slightly tapers from back to front, resulting in a smoother transition at the choke. This measurably increases shot speed, significantly reduces recoil, and greatly improves coverage. At the same time, the externally located Diana Chokes Extended enhance the even distribution of the shot pattern.
Stock The over-and-under shotgun B525 Liberty Light from Browning features an appealing Monte Carlo stock made from high-quality material of grade 2/3 American Grade. The high stock comb with low drop allows female shooters to achieve better contact between cheek and stock. This results in a more even and controlled mount, while the felt recoil is also reduced. At the same time, a low pitch (80° inclination) reduces the contact between stock mass and the shooter's shoulder, significantly increasing shooting comfort. The entire stock is meticulously polished and oiled, highlighting the high quality of craftsmanship of the entire hunting shotgun. The stock is finished with a 20 mm wide, elastic, and smooth Inflex™ II stock pad, which significantly reduces recoil and simultaneously slides quickly and securely into the shoulder upon mounting. Interchangeable pads in thicknesses of 12 mm or 25 mm are included in the standard delivery. The shotgun is also offered with a left-handed stock version.
