The synthetic stock of the straight-pull repeater Blaser R8 Professional Success with semi-weight barrel is designed for the toughest use under the most adverse conditions. The heavier barrel enhances the swing behavior and inherent precision.
The robust, one-piece stock with black elastomer grip inserts on the pistol grip and forend is very grippy even in wet and cold conditions. The Success stock design is ergonomically perfect and helps the shooter achieve a better stance—whether lying down, offhand, or supported. The completely relaxed position of the shooting hand and arm results in an immediate increase in the shooter's accuracy, while shooting errors such as the annoying "flinching" are nearly completely eliminated. The stock cap, specially developed for the R8 Professional, offers excellent recoil reduction and great gliding properties. The Blaser R8 Professional Success is available in various stock colors. The most popular color combination is black-brown with black grip inserts, closely followed by the stock color dark green.
The Blaser straight-pull repeater system allows for lightning-fast shot sequences while maintaining a relaxed body posture, without having to set the weapon down. This keeps the shooter's eye and the barrel of the weapon continuously focused on the target. The time gained in target acquisition leads to a more secure shot release. The manual safety system is considered one of the best safety systems available. No other mechanical safety can provide the security of a relaxed firing pin spring. The R8 is intentionally cocked just before the shot by pushing the cocking slider forward. To relax the system, a light pressure on the cocking slider is sufficient, and it glides back. At the same time, the weapon cannot be unintentionally opened, as the chamber handle is blocked when the bolt is relaxed and locked. If the magazine, including the trigger unit, is not in the weapon, the R8 cannot be cocked and is thus safe from unauthorized use.
The magazine change is quick and easy with a short press on the two release buttons, which are ideally positioned above the trigger. The magazine buttons can be locked to reliably prevent unintentional removal of the magazine.
The excellent trigger characteristics of the Blaser direct trigger with only 700 g trigger weight provide the perfect prerequisite for a precise shot. Optionally, the Blaser Atzl trigger system is offered: the trigger weight can be adjusted to either 200 g or 600 g. Retrofitting is possible at the factory.
The modular Blaser principle: Every Blaser R8 repeater rifle is freely configurable. There are countless equipment variants that can be individually combined.
The Blaser R8 barrels and chambers are cold forged and thus perfectly concentric. They are characterized by high precision and durability. The barrels have a DLC A+ coating (Diamond Like Carbon). This type of coating, which uses a carbon that has the hardness of a diamond, is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. Through a thin-film coating process, the surfaces of the barrels achieve a high degree of hardness and become particularly resistant to mechanical damage and corrosion, as well as very smooth. This reduces maintenance effort and gives the barrel its noble, satin-matte, deep black appearance. The ball barrels are manufactured in the standard barrel contour with a barrel profile of 19 mm at the muzzle in lengths of: 42 cm, 47 cm, 52 cm, 58 cm, 65 cm, both with and without sights. Optionally, the barrels are delivered with a barrel thread M 15x1.
The caliber selection is enormous, allowing you to hunt any game species on any continent with a Blaser R8. Blaser distinguishes between different caliber groups: .22 LR, Mini, Standard, Medium, and Magnum. The reason is the modular Blaser principle. The Blaser R8 systems and stocks can be individually combined with different barrel types in various calibers. Only when changing the caliber group is it necessary to additionally replace the locking chamber on the bolt. The large-area barrel bedding in the solid system box ensures that the weapon shoots accurately again after a caliber change. Another advantage: the R8 can be disassembled and reassembled in seconds without changing the point of impact.
