The Blaser R8 Success Leather repeater features an ergonomically optimized Success Leather stock.
The combination of noble walnut wood of classes 4 or 7 and high-quality genuine leather inlays is visually very appealing. Here, state-of-the-art technology merges with classic elegance to create an excellent hunting weapon. The stock is divided into a rear and front stock, allowing the matte black system housing with the gold-colored R8 lettering to stand out elegantly. The trigger blade and chamber are elaborately titanium-nitrided. The hand-stitched leather inlays provide a pleasant feel and optimal grip in every situation. The noble impression is rounded off by a front stock end made of ebony. The rear stock is equipped with a shock-absorbing rubber butt pad.
The Blaser straight-pull repeater system allows for lightning-fast shot sequences while maintaining a relaxed body posture, without having to put down the weapon. This keeps the shooter's eye and the barrel of the weapon continuously focused on the target. The time gained in target acquisition leads to a more secure shot release. The set trigger safety system is considered one of the best safety systems. No other mechanical safety can offer the security of a relaxed firing pin spring. The R8 is deliberately cocked just before the shot by pushing the cocking slider forward. To relax the system, a light pressure on the cocking slider is sufficient, and it glides back. At the same time, the weapon cannot be unintentionally opened, as the chamber handle is blocked when the bolt is relaxed and locked. If the magazine, including the trigger unit, is not in the rifle, the R8 cannot be cocked and is thus safe from unauthorized use.
The magazine change is quick and easy with a short press on the two release buttons, which are ideally positioned above the trigger. The magazine buttons can be locked, preventing unintentional removal of the magazine reliably.
The excellent trigger characteristics of the Blaser direct trigger with only 700 g trigger weight are the perfect prerequisite for a precise shot. Optionally, the Blaser Atzl trigger system is offered: The trigger weight can be adjusted to either 200 g or 600 g. Retrofitting is possible at the factory.
The modular Blaser principle: Every Blaser R8 repeater rifle is freely configurable. There are countless equipment variants that can be individually combined.
The Blaser R8 barrels and chambers are cold forged, making them perfectly concentric. They are characterized by high precision and durability. The barrel surface has a DLC coating (Diamond Like Carbon), except for .308Win, barrel length 58cm, without threads, with sights. This type of coating, which uses carbon that has the hardness of a diamond, is very environmentally friendly and biocompatible compared to galvanic coatings. Through a thin-film coating process, the coated barrels are particularly resistant to mechanical damage and corrosion, as well as very smooth. The rifle barrels are manufactured in the standard barrel contour with a barrel profile of 17 mm at the muzzle in barrel lengths: 42 cm, 47 cm, 52 cm, 58 cm, 65 cm, both with and without sights. Optionally, the barrels are delivered with a barrel thread M 15x1.
The caliber selection is enormous, allowing one to hunt any game species on any continent with a Blaser R8. Blaser distinguishes between different caliber groups: .22 LR, Mini, Standard, Medium, and Magnum. The reason is the modular Blaser principle. The Blaser R8 systems and stocks can be individually combined with different barrel types in various calibers. Only when changing the caliber group is it necessary to additionally swap the locking chamber on the bolt. The large-area barrel bedding in the solid system housing ensures that the weapon shoots accurately again after a caliber change. Another plus point: the R8 can be disassembled and reassembled in seconds without changing the point of impact. Most R8 models are also available as complete left-hand versions with a left-hand stock and left-hand system.
