The System
The system of the SM 12, made of steel, has been coated with Ilaflon, effectively protecting against corrosion. The Steyr typical bolt with optimized chamber grip and 60-degree opening angle glides smoothly through the sleeve. Equipped with a functional manual cocking system (H.C.S.) and combination trigger, the SM 12 is a weapon with a set trigger that does not compromise on the safety of manual cocking. With minimal effort, the manual cocking is easy to operate even in the shooting position. The golden trigger visually emphasizes Steyr's attention to detail. The removable magazine holds in the standard caliber 4+1 shots and in the Magnum variant 3+1, providing sufficient firepower.

The Stock
The stock of the SM 12 has been crafted in a classic form with clear lines from walnut wood. The Bavarian cheek piece with double fold gives it a special ergonomics and absorbs recoil cleanly. The finely checkered surface on the fore-end and grip provides an exceptionally good hold, expressing the maneuverability of this hunting rifle.

The Barrel
The cold-hammered and O.B.P. (optimized Barrel profile) optimized barrel promises consistently good hit results. Its externally turned structure integrates very well into the appealing overall appearance of the SM 12. Barrel lengths are selectable in the standard calibers 51 cm or 56 cm and in the Magnum calibers in barrel lengths of 56 cm or 63.5 cm. An all-round sight is pre-installed.
