The R8 Semi-Weight barrel is about 300 g heavier than the standard barrel from Blaser. This improves the oscillation behavior of the rifle, increases precision, and reduces recoil. The forend here is designed to accommodate such a barrel. The stock is made of walnut from wood class 4, and the pistol grip and thumbhole are ergonomically optimally arranged for a relaxed hold. The grip surfaces have a checkered texture that feels pleasant in the hands. The buttstock ends with a recoil-absorbing rubber cap, and the forend cap made of dark ebony adds an elegant accent.
The matte black system housing made of Dural integrates organically with the walnut wood featuring its fine grain. It is secured by releasing the firing spring, and its direct trigger is crisp and releases at a trigger weight of 750 g without delay.
