Glock 26 GEN.5

The Glock 26 Gen. 5 is a variant from the Glock subcompact series, further developed from the Glock 17, which was designed in the early 1980s for the Austrian Armed Forces and is one of the first pistols with a polymer frame.
Since the weapon is made of about 40% particularly durable plastic, it is very lightweight. To ensure stability and durability, the frame is reinforced with a few steel elements. The complete weapon consists of only 34 components, providing a high degree of reliability.

The development of the Glock Safe-Action trigger system represented a milestone in firearm construction. In this system, the firing pin is partially tensioned by retracting the slide. Only when the trigger is pulled does the firing pin receive full tension, an internal drop safety is released, and the cartridge is ignited. This ensures a consistent trigger weight from the first shot, combined with very safe operation.

Overall, each Glock pistol features three internal safeties: a trigger safety integrated into the trigger, a firing pin safety, and a drop safety. All three are automatically disengaged when the trigger is pulled.

Due to the shape and angle of the grip, combined with a short trigger travel, very fast shooting sequences and excellent shooting characteristics are possible, and the adjustable rear sight ensures a secure aiming process. All three are automatically disengaged when the trigger is pulled.

To minimize recoil, the Glock 26 Gen. 5 is equipped with a dual recoil spring, and interchangeable backstraps allow for optimization of the grip.

The models of Gen. 5 were further developed from Gen. 4, which is still offered.

Ergonomics have been further improved; the grip now has no finger grooves, making it even more flexible, as the shooter no longer has to adapt to a predetermined finger width. Since the slide stop lever is now ambidextrous, the weapon can also be easily and safely operated by left-handed shooters.

For even better precision, Glock also modified the barrel (Glock Marksman Barrel), and a DLC coating on the steel surfaces makes the weapon even more corrosion-resistant and scratch-resistant. Its very compact dimensions make the Glock 26 ideal for concealed carry and thus an alternative to 5-shot pocket revolvers.
