This is particularly practical when the weapon is carried in the case for an extended period, is particularly heavy, or when hands need to be kept as free as possible.

Thick foam covered with lambswool provides the best possible protection for the rifle against weather and impacts on the way to the shooting range, hunting, or to the gunsmith.
