The BD 14 is equipped with a double lock system, allowing a second shot to be available immediately without re-cocking. Thanks to the exposed barrels, the point of impact remains constant even with rapid follow-up shots, regardless of which barrel is fired first. The extremely strong tilting block lock also contributes to the high precision of the BD 14.

BLASER VERTICAL BLOCK LOCK

The newly developed and patented Blaser vertical block lock is an absolute world novelty. It combines an extremely compact, stable block locking mechanism in a closed system in the barrel hook piece with the comfortable operability of classic break-action weapons. Thanks to the vertical locking, it is ensured that the lock can be reliably closed even with cartridges that slide heavily into the chamber. The locking block is easy and quick to remove and can thus be stored separately from the weapon. An additional safety feature to protect against unauthorized use.

HAND-COCKING DOUBLE LOCK SYSTEM

The hand-cocking system offers the highest possible safety when handling the loaded weapon. Two locks allow for a quick follow-up shot if needed. Using a toggle switch conveniently located next to the locking lever, the BD14 can optionally function as a mountain stock or a Bockbüchsflinte. The front trigger always operates the lower, large ball barrel. When opening the lock or operating the locking lever, both locks automatically relax. The trigger weight of approximately 650 g for both triggers, as well as the extremely dry characteristic, guarantee safe hitting.

FREE SWINGING BARRELS

Even with rapid follow-up shots and regardless of the previously fired barrel, the point of impact remains consistently precise. The adjustment of the small ball barrel to the large ball barrel is done using easily operable adjustment elements in the muzzle ring (side adjustment) and in a second barrel ring (height adjustment) under the fore-end. All sliding surfaces serving thermal stability are hard chrome plated and thus permanently corrosion protected. This type of barrel adjustment ensures the best possible constant point of impact.
