The R8 Ultimate sets new standards in terms of function and design.
Its split, ergonomically perfected stock ensures both a completely relaxed position of the shooting hand and optimal control of the weapon during supported, precise shooting. With newly developed modular equipment options, the R8 Ultimate can be precisely tailored to individual needs.

Trigger

The dry direct trigger of the R8 provides the perfect foundation for a precise shot. The shot is released at approximately 750 g trigger weight without any delay.

Removable magazine

The magazine and trigger group are fused into a compact unit. The magazine release buttons are ideally positioned above the trigger guard for quick and intuitive handling. The magazine can be removed lightning-fast and "blindly." When removing the magazine with the integrated trigger group, the R8 automatically relaxes, and with the magazine removed, the cocking lever cannot engage. An important safety criterion also to protect against misuse by unauthorized persons.

Straight-pull bolt system

This allows for lightning-fast reloading and quick shot delivery while maintaining a relaxed body position. Eyes and weapon remain focused on the target, leading to a significant time gain when reacquiring the target. Through the hand cocking, the firing pin spring is consciously tensioned only shortly before the shot is fired. No mechanical system can offer the safety of a relaxed firing pin spring. If no shot is fired, a light pressure on the cocking lever is sufficient to relax the firing pin spring. Accidental opening is excluded with a relaxed firing pin spring; a light tap on the cocking lever is enough to unlock the bolt. If the magazine along with the trigger unit is not in the weapon, the firing pin spring cannot be tensioned. This provides additional safety against unauthorized access.

Closed design

The closed design of the R8 prevents foreign objects from entering from the outside. It goes without saying that all metals used are corrosion-resistant or protected from corrosion by appropriate surface finishing. The magazine is protected from dirt and foreign objects by a protective cover when it is outside the weapon.

Seeing more means hitting more safely. Compared to other riflescopes, the Magnus 2.4 – 16 x 56 i offers more light at low magnifications due to particularly low vignetting. The large objective diameter, the effective exit pupil at medium magnifications, and the excellent light transmission of around 92% ensure optimal target acquisition from dawn until the last light of day. With a high maximum magnification of 16x, it is also perfectly suited for sporting shots at long distances. The advantage: The extremely high light transmission, combined with the outstanding Leica lens system, provides more light even under the most adverse conditions, especially at lower magnifications. Stray light and vignetting effects are significantly reduced, and contrast is increased. In conjunction with the high magnification, it guarantees safe target acquisition at the shortest distances up to precise long shots.
