Carl Gustafs Karabiner M94, Cal. 6.5x55, Used firearm
The repeating rifle from the manufacturer Carl Gustafs is a military rifle developed at the end of the 19th century, which was used in the Swedish army. The present rifle is from the year 1903 and has the caliber 6.5x55. The carbine features a cylindrical bolt of the Mauser System 96. The system is a cock-on-close, meaning the weapon cocks the bolt when closing the action, unlike the German counterpart of the Gewehr 98 which cocks when opening the bolt. The service weapon has a 3-position wing safety and an integrated magazine with a capacity of 5 rounds. The weapon has a straight wooden stock without a cheekpiece. An integrated lug and a sling swivel are attached for rifle sling mounting. A rectangular adjustable folding rear sight with a scale from 4-16 is mounted on the weapon. The hooded front sight has a lateral front sight protector (to prevent breaking) designed as a double hump. Furthermore, a sturdy bayonet mount is attached. This rather rare version has a 47cm barrel and is therefore very compact.
Today, this Carl Gustafs Karabiner M94 is a rarity and a collector's firearm.
