Woolpower UllfrottéDurable, textile material made from fine merino wool with a polyamide/polyester content – and a lot, a lot of air. It consists of 80% air. This is a knitted terry fabric, with one side being smooth and the other side made of terry loops. The airy terry loops combined with the crimp structure of the wool create a jersey knit that traps a lot of air, resulting in very good insulation properties. The thicker the layer of air next to the body, the less body heat can escape. Ullfrotté is knitted on specially designed circular knitting machines as a tube with varying diameters, completely without seams that could chafe or come undone.
These thicker garments are designed as a mid-layer – to optimize thermal insulation between the "skin-close" functional underwear and the outer layer. It is particularly used in lower temperatures or during calmer activities.
