Insert the screw from the back through the antler shield and screw on the retaining bracket with a thread. Use pliers to insert the spring into the skull cavity and move it back and forth a few times so that the tips of the spring bore into the skull. Then slide the arc of the spring through the retaining bracket, position the antlers as desired, and tighten the screw firmly.
