New service pistol for the Bavarian police: Walther presents the PPQ M3

These weapons have already been tested by the police!

Currently, there are around 33,500 weapon carriers in the Bavarian police. Since 1979, the P7 pistol from Heckler & Koch has been their service pistol. It has proven itself due to its performance and precision. However, the P7 has not been produced since 2008. In April, Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) announced the introduction of a new and state-of-the-art service weapon – we reported on this. The company Carl Walther, founded in 1886 in Zella-Mehlis (Thuringia), will participate in the tender with its official weapon PPQ M3, as the company announced.

The designation PPQ M3 stands for:

- PPQ for an optimally ergonomically shaped, slim grip
- M for the magazine holder, which can be switched from left-side operation to right-side
- 3 for the partially cocked trigger, which is certified according to technical guidelines.

With the PPQ M3, Walther successfully continues the product line of the P99 and builds on over two decades of experience with this product family.

The trigger is the same for every shot. After 13 mm, the partially cocked trigger releases at 3.2 kg. Up to the release point, the trigger pull increases slowly. Unique in this case: In the event of a misfire, the trigger can be activated again without having to cycle the action first. No other pistol with a partially cocked trigger offers this function.
A Picatinny accessory rail according to MIL-STD-1913 is used to accommodate a tactical light or a laser sight.
The grip area is ergonomically shaped. To ensure a non-slip grip, the surface is heavily textured.
