1960s Colt POLICE POSITIVE SPECIAL DA Revolver
Here we present a C&R Royal Hong Kong Police Colt Police Positive Special, manufactured in the mid-1960s in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt Police Positive Special is a double-action revolver with a medium frame and a six-shot cylinder, primarily chambered in .38 Special. It was primarily designed for sale to law enforcement agencies at the federal, state, or local level and enjoys a reputation as the most produced revolver design by Colt, with over 750,000 units built.
The Police Positive Special was a slight improvement over Colt's earlier Police Positive model. The only differences were a slightly extended cylinder and an extended and reinforced frame to accommodate the longer, more powerful .32-20 Winchester and .38 Special cartridges. It was also produced in .32 Colt New Police and .38 Colt New Police calibers. It was manufactured with 4-inch, 5-inch, and 6-inch barrels and was equipped with either wooden or hard rubber grips.
