The submachine gun 40 was produced by Erma and Steyr from 1940 to 1944. The very maneuverable and compact MP40 was manufactured over 1 million times during this period. The no less well-known predecessors are the MP36 and the MP38. The semi-automatic rifle in caliber .22 is made of steel and zinc die-cast and features a single-action trigger and a folding stock.
