Improved algorithms for image processing
The Axion 2 thermal imaging devices use a new approach to image optimization that provides high-quality reproduction of both target objects and the background, depending on the purpose and conditions of the observation. Three levels of signal amplification combined with a connected smoothing filter and finely adjustable brightness and contrast settings offer the hunter great opportunities to detect the animal at long distances under various weather and temperature conditions and to determine its trophy quality.
Built-in precision laser rangefinder
To make the right decisions, it is important to accurately estimate the distance to the target. A built-in laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1 kilometer allows you to measure the distance in single measurement and continuous scanning modes with an accuracy of ± 1 meter, enabling a quick and error-free assessment of the situation.
Rugged magnesium alloy housing
The Axion is designed for constant, often harsh use. The magnesium alloy housing is both lightweight and robust. The housing reliably protects the internal components of a thermal imaging device against shocks, drops, moisture, heat, or cold. At the same time, the metal housing dissipates heat from the electronics, minimizes image noise, and increases the operational stability of the device during long-term observations.
Highly sensitive Lynred sensor with 640x480 pixels
The Axion 2 XG35 is equipped with a European Lynred sensor with a resolution of 640x480 pixels (pixel size 12 micrometers), which captures a qualitatively usable signal even under difficult observation conditions such as rain, fog, and high humidity at the observation site.
F35/1.0 lens with a large aperture
The germanium lens F35/1.0 offers high transmission in the long-wave infrared (LWIR) range. Thanks to the high-precision manufacturing of the optical elements of the lens, the image produced by the Axion 2 thermal imaging device's sensor is characterized by its clarity and detail accuracy.
Extended battery life. Up to 7 hours on a single charge
A rechargeable APS5 battery with high capacity allows for continuous operation of the thermal imaging device for 7 hours on a single charge. The battery can be removed from the battery compartment in seconds and replaced with a new one. The battery can be charged in a special device or within the device from a PC, mains power system, or power bank via USB-C. The same sources are used for the external power supply of a thermal imaging device.
Improved Wi-Fi connectivity with support for 2.4 / 5 GHz frequency range
The Axion 2 XG thermal imaging cameras complement the frequency range of the standard smartphone connection via a 2.4 GHz WiFi channel with an effective 5 GHz range. The 5 GHz connection offers better bandwidth, faster data transfer rates, immunity to noise, and improved connection stability, leading to more productive and easier operation of the thermal imaging camera with a smartphone.
1750 m detection range
A powerful F35/1.0 lens combined with a highly sensitive 640x480@12 µm thermal imaging sensor provides exceptional recording capabilities. A standard object of 1.8 m height can be detected in complete darkness at a distance of up to 1750 m.
Field of view of over 12.5 degrees
The Axion 2 XG thermal imaging devices are suitable for viewing in wide areas, for observation while moving, or for moving objects - the linear field of view is 21.9 m at 100 m distance or 12.5° in angular measurement. The "Picture in Picture" function activates an additional window at the top of the screen, where the central area of the observed scene is displayed with 2x or 4x magnification. This way, the information content of a wide field of view can be combined with the detailed observation of the selected object.
Pocket-sized and lightweight
The Axion 2 XG has a space-saving pocket-sized design and weighs 300 grams. The symmetrical design and arrangement of the buttons on the top make the device easy to hold and operate for both right-handed and left-handed users.
Variable magnification from 2.5x to 20x
The up to 4x digital zoom provides improved sharpness and better detection of an object at large distances. The zoom can be adjusted either in steps of 2x or continuously for a truly optimal field of view tailored to the specific situation.
Quick start-up
The Axion 2 features a short startup time: after pressing the ON button, the device is fully operational within 5 seconds. The quick start function helps save power: the Axion 2 does not need to be kept constantly on during hunting but can be quickly turned on when needed.
Waterproof according to IPX7
Waterproof according to IPX7 to protect against heavy rain, snow, or other moisture influences. The device is designed to function properly even when submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes.
Built-in photo and video recorder. Free 16 GB cloud storage
The Axion 2 has a built-in video recorder. The internal memory of the Axion 2 can store hours of video and tens of thousands of photos. A single button press is enough to take a photo of an interesting subject or start a video recording. The recordings can be copied to a computer hard drive via a USB-C connection. The Axion 2 owner has access to 16 GB of storage space for photos and videos taken with the device in the Pulsar cloud storage. Simply install the Stream Vision 2 mobile application, sign in, and connect the device via WiFi to a smartphone.
High-contrast AMOLED HD display
The high-contrast AMOLED display with HD resolution has improved color reproduction, is energy-efficient, and responsive, delivering sharp and fluid images even in frost.
Remote control via smartphone and software update with the Stream Vision 2 app
The integrated WiFi connects the Axion 2 with Android and iOS smartphones via the Stream Vision 2 mobile application. This opens up a variety of possibilities, such as wireless software updates for the device, real-time image transmission from the device to the smartphone screen, sharing photo and video content captured with the device on social media or transferring to messenger applications, remote control of digital device functions, and access to the latest news from Pulsar. Additionally, registered users receive 16 GB of cloud storage for photos and videos taken with the device.
A selection of 8 color palettes
A selection of 8 color palettes allows the user to better observe their field of view, optimize the device for specific tasks, and respond to changing observation conditions. White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are optimal for detecting an object, while Rainbow and Ultramarine increase the chances of detection and identification. Red Monochrome, Sepia, and Violet are best suited for long observations at night.
