With the P80, Gaston Glock developed a novel pistol in the early 1980s that distinguished itself from other pistol manufacturers thanks to its polymer frame and Safe Action® system, and eventually came into use with the Austrian Army. Under the designation Glock 17, it was also used as a service weapon and in the field of sport shooting. The P80 is a semi-automatic pistol in 9 mm Luger caliber with a full-size frame.
