The compact version of the proven HDP 50 combines its reliability with space-saving features. Thanks to the Quick-Piercing system, a light strike on the underside of the grip is sufficient in an emergency to activate the driving 8g CO2 capsule. This system allows the HDP 50 Compact to be pre-loaded with four rounds of the powerful caliber .50 and with the capsule inserted in standby. The clearly visible and tactile pressure indicator signals immediate readiness for use. In operation, the HDP 50 impresses with its barely noticeable recoil. The lightweight, shock-resistant polymer frame ensures quick aiming after each shot. The cover of the four-shot tube magazine under the barrel also serves as a generous trigger guard, allowing operation with gloves and guiding the index finger reliably to the trigger.

The striking and characteristic color scheme serves for clear identification as a non-lethal defense weapon. Used internationally, it signals potential aggressors a non-lethal defensive intent, thus having a de-escalating effect.
