The MAL38 thermal imaging attachment from Infiray is the successor to the already legendary CL42, which is very popular and well-known among hunting attachments. The new model is very well made and, thanks to its magnesium housing, also very robust. The image quality has improved significantly compared to its predecessor, making it very well positioned in its price range. An absolute feature is the detachable control unit (remote control), as such a thing has not existed before, and it works excellently. In the future, there will also be an additional laser rangefinder that can be easily mounted and connected to the device.

Dual Use

The MATE series can be used as a monocular or as an attachment for a daytime riflescope. The original design allows for quick conversion from monocular to mount and vice versa.

 
Photography and Video Recording

It features an integrated storage space of 32 GB for photography and video recording. The image and video files are named according to the time. It is therefore recommended to set the time in the main menu or synchronize the time in the settings of the Infiray Outdoor APP before using the photography and recording function.

 
WLAN Function

An integrated WLAN module is also built in, allowing the device to be wirelessly connected to external devices such as smartphones.

 
Installation of the Battery Pack

Included is a professional power bank, the IBP-4 InfiRay battery pack. This is shockproof, waterproof, and lightweight, making it ideal for use in harsh conditions.
Miscellaneous: With the new Infiray MATE MAL38, InfiRay achieves an unprecedented level of image quality and precision: Features from years of clip-on development have been combined and integrated. The device offers highly precise adjustability in the X and Y axes and surpasses the precision of all previous devices from the manufacturer right out of the box. In terms of image quality, the MATE MAL 38 allows for up to 10 times magnification of the riflescope. The contrast sharpness and image quality stand out significantly from the predecessor model and are a highlight of this device. As usual, 4 shot profiles can be set and selected for 4 different weapons.
