The renowned US traditional firearms manufacturer Savage Arms presents its straight-pull bolt-action rifle Impulse after 2.5 years of development work, introducing a new, highly innovative hunting weapon and making a remarkable entry into this highly competitive market segment in our latitudes!

The new Impulse model series from Savage is THE new technical innovation of 2021! The manufacturer has combined the already long-proven Savage technology of the predecessor models with no less than 13 new, patented design details for the new Impulse model series! This combination has created a new, extremely powerful and modular rifle generation - Savage IMPULSE!

The centerpiece of the new Savage Impulse models is, of course, the straight-pull bolt known as "Hexlock." Compared to a conventional cylindrical bolt, a straight-pull bolt is significantly faster and quieter during the cycling process, as the cycling is more linear and consists of only two movements. This pure movement allows for faster follow-up shots with quicker, more precise target acquisition for instinctive, repeatable accuracy - a decisive advantage in hunting practice, for example, during a driven hunt!

The safety aspect of this new product line is exceptional and sets new standards! Due to the thoughtful design of the bolt, even powerful magnum calibers can be fired with the highest reliability and safety. The new Hexlock bolt of the Impulse models is an evolution of the conventional straight-pull bolt with a cylindrical locking mechanism for an extremely fast and light locking operation. It locks with 6 steel balls in a corresponding counter bearing in the barrel extension, and with increased pressure, these steel balls are additionally pressed into the lock. Thus, the system is self-locking. Furthermore, the firing pin remains mechanically secured until the bolt is fully locked. With the mechanical firing pin safety in combination with a Savage AccuTrigger with an integrated safety element and the ambidextrous two-position sliding safety on the stock neck, the Savage Impulse models have three independently functioning safeties. Thus, the Savage straight-pull rifles are absolutely drop-safe even when the sliding safety is not activated.

Other technical features of the new models include an adjustable chamber rod that can be mounted at different angles on the right or left side of the firearm. The chamber rod head is on a thread and can also be replaced. The lightweight aluminum system housing is equipped with an integrated one-piece Mil-Spec Picatinny rail with a 20 MOA incline to allow maximum flexibility in optics mounting.

Additional features of the new Impulse model series include an ergonomic release button for easy unloading of the firearm, which also serves as a chamber lock when loaded. Additionally, there is a spring-loaded push-slide button for easy removal and insertion of the bolt. The entire bolt is also tool-free disassemblable. Thanks to the modular design of the Savage firearms, caliber conversion is also possible with the tool-free interchangeable bolt head and replaceable barrels.

The already successful and proven Savage features such as a button-rifled barrel with a minimally adjusted locking distance (Barrel Nut System), the individually adjustable AccuFit synthetic stock in length and height, the precision-enhancing three-dimensional AccuStock aluminum bedding along the full length, and the fully adjustable AccuTrigger, which can even be adjusted from the outside without disassembly in the Impulse series, are also utilized in the new models! In addition, the barrel features a 5/8 x 24 muzzle thread. The proven components such as box magazine, barrels, AccuFit stock system, and AccuTrigger are compatible with the Savage flagship and classic model 110.

The Impulse Predator model is available in calibers 22-250 Rem, .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .308 Win. The button-rifled medium barrel made of carbon steel is equipped with a Barrel Nut System and a 5/8-24" muzzle thread. The barrel length is 20 inches. The AccuFit synthetic stock features a special Mossy Oak® Terra Gila Camo camouflage pattern. The housing is made of 7075 aluminum. The receiver and barrel are finished with a matte black surface. The magazine capacity of the removable AICS magazine is 10 rounds.
