The single-stack magazine was chosen in favor of a slim silhouette, as the weapon was designed for concealed carry. The FIRESTAR technically borrows many features from the COLT 1911 and has proven to be precise and reliable, earning the Handgun-of-the-Year Award from Guns&Ammo magazine in 1991. Additionally, the full steel construction ensures high durability and the extra weight contributes to a pleasant shooting behavior.
