For longer transport of the weapon, it is important to protect the case from access by unauthorized persons. The simplest and most common way to do this is with a padlock. Most padlocks come with a separate key, which can be easily lost. The Blaser combination lock has no such problems, as it operates with a three-digit numerical code. The three-digit code can be individually set.
