Spacers increase attenuation and protect against low frequencies up to 33 dB. They feature an electrically insulated double headband that reduces heat buildup on the head. The 3M PELTOR X4 earmuffs are brightly green color-coded, making it easy to select the right protection levels from the X series. Our earmuffs combine 3M's widely recognized experience in hearing protection products with advanced technology and include a specially designed spacer and new padding technology that improves noise attenuation without excessive volume and weight. This means that the X4 is lightweight and even more streamlined than other high-attenuation earmuffs while reducing noise by up to 33 dB. The electrically insulated design with a double headband reduces heat buildup on the head, and the plastic-coated stainless steel wire makes the headband the most robust that 3M has to offer. It is both strong and comfortable, as the flat, wide headband has a soft plastic coating that exerts stable pressure on the head. No exposed metal means that the product is "dielectric" and provides electrical resistance for applications with spark or charge hazards. Carefully shaped sliders ensure that the earmuffs can be easily adjusted to fit the head. Wide, soft foam padding ensures that employees feel comfortable, while the narrow capsules provide improved compatibility with other safety equipment. The cushions and foam inserts are available in the form of hygiene kits that can be easily replaced when damaged or worn out, allowing for a longer product lifespan.
