The repeating rifle M96, colloquially known as the Swedish Mauser, was the choice of the Swedish army when a new standard rifle was to be procured at the end of the 19th century. These were initially manufactured by Mauser in Oberndorf a. N., later only by Swedish companies, primarily at the Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori. Due to the high level of manufacturing and the unparalleled reliability and precision, the rifle remained in service for an impressive 8 decades.

Due to its neutrality during World War II, Sweden was able to maintain its high manufacturing standards, allowing the produced rifles to be made without quality fluctuations, which made them very popular among shooters and collectors worldwide. Additionally, the rifle is an excellent choice for free competitions or service shooting due to its small recoil caliber 6.5x55Swed and pronounced precision.

The present rifle is marked with a valid German proof. The condition of the weapon is good. Unfortunately, it is not matching numbers.
