The Eberlestock backpack Little Brother Pack is a medium-sized front and top loader, which works both solo as a daypack or can be supplemented as an extension to the J51 Warhammer Pack. There is an option to attach a separate weapon pouch, and you get a transport system for long guns without additional space loss.
