With the ZEISS SFL binoculars 8x40 (SmartFocus Lightweight), special moments can be experienced with ease. The SFL binoculars are designed to be as lightweight and compact as possible, making them a perfect addition to the SF family. The new Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) Concept ensures natural color reproduction and the highest detail recognition. The focus wheel is perfectly positioned thanks to the SmartFocus Concept, allowing for quick and precise focusing, even while wearing gloves. The improved ergonomics and large exit pupil provide a relaxed and undisturbed viewing experience.
With a field of view of up to 140 m at 1,000 m distance and a close focus limit of 1.5 m, the SFL 8x40 delivers the optimal overview combined with precise detail recognition.
The objective diameter has been reduced by 2 mm, allowing for thinner lens elements to be installed at a closer distance, resulting in weight savings of up to 20% and volume savings of up to 13% compared to the ZEISS Victory SF models. Thus, the SFL binoculars are up to 30% lighter than comparable competitive products. The lightweight yet robust magnesium housing ensures durability and longevity. The reduced objective diameter allows for the use of thinner lens elements that could be installed more closely together. Despite the significant weight and volume savings, the SFL binoculars provide perfect image quality.
The Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) Concept stands for a special coating and an improved optical design that ensures the highest detail recognition and reproduces colors faithfully. This allows for the identification of the smallest features and safe identification of wildlife.
The SmartFocus Concept enables quick and precise focusing without having to spread your fingers wide apart. The focus wheel, perfectly positioned in the DoubleLink Bridge, offers the highest user ergonomics, requires only 1.4 turns from close focus to infinity, and can be operated precisely even with gloves.
With 90% light transmission and the ZEISS T*-multi-coating, details are recognized clearly and precisely even in twilight, allowing every moment to be captured even in darker environments. The perfect ergonomics of the ZEISS SFL models allow for quick and easy positioning of the eye and provide a comfortable and immersive viewing experience thanks to the large exit pupil. Additionally, the improved eyecups offer even better ergonomic feel and a smooth transition between the defined contact points, which are precisely defined and can be perfectly reached. The ZEISS T*-multi-coating guarantees brilliant, high-contrast images, especially in unfavorable lighting conditions and in twilight. However, this is not a fixed recipe for a layer structure, but a technology that is constantly adapted to new glass materials and requirements and varies from lens to lens. Even in wet weather, there are impressive sights to observe in nature. For this, ZEISS has developed LotuTec®. A coating for the lenses of binoculars and spotting scopes that allows for unrestricted clear visibility in any weather condition.
