The pistol features a new, deep black finish (nDLC). This is exclusive and makes it significantly more resistant to corrosion and scratches compared to previous generations, ensuring reliable protection even under unfavorable conditions.

Furthermore, the pistol is equipped with a new grip that does not use ergonomically shaped finger grooves. This not only visually matches the surface of the weapon better but also makes handling more pleasant for the shooter due to the textured structure—eliminating the need to adapt to a specific, predefined finger width.

New features of the Glock 17 Gen5 include the bidirectional slide catch lever, the modified barrel (Glock Marksman Barrel, GMB) that ensures better precision, and the improved sight that allows for a larger light gap between the rear and front sights. Additionally, the magazine well has been revised, and an orange-colored cartridge feeder has been implemented. This ensures that the shooter can clearly see the empty magazine even in poor lighting conditions.

The Glock 17 Gen5 comes with a plastic case and a spare magazine.
