It is a normal phenomenon that over time the opening (Sayaguchi) of the sword sheath of a samurai sword loses its grip and the sword sits too loosely. Since the sword can then simply fall out of the sheath, the opening should be repaired. The set includes: 1 set of wooden plates from Toshiro Swords: These thin plates are glued into the opening of the sword sheath to compensate for the missing material. The wood has sufficient hardness to hold the sword but is also soft enough not to scratch the blade collar (Habaki). It has a thickness of less than 1 mm, so after gluing, there is only a low risk that the opening is too tight. If the sword sheath is too tight after gluing, the glued plate can be carefully filed down until the desired fit is achieved. Included are two plates measuring approximately 8 x 3.5 cm each. A tube of UHU Express: The express glue sets within minutes and is transparent after drying. It allows for quick work, and any residues are hardly visible. The included 20g is sufficient for numerous repair processes. Diamond file: A small file (14 cm in length) that is so hard that it effortlessly removes wood. Its surface is also finely structured so that not too much material is lost. With the file, the inside of the sword sheath can be straightened, and old residues can be removed before the plates are glued in. After gluing, careful filing of the plate can also be done if the sword sits too tightly.
