Miyamoto Musashi is regarded as one of the most remarkable samurai in Japanese history and lived from 1584 to 1645. He is praised as the best swordsman in Japan. He was a fighter, artist, and craftsman at the same time. He developed his own fighting style, known as "Niten Ichiryu," which is still taught today. In this style, both short and long swords are used simultaneously. His founding of a school for tsuba (guard) making is unforgettable. His most famous, very simple tsuba consists of two oval rings. - Blade in Shinogi-Zukuri style with fuller (Bo-Hi), hand-forged from 1045 carbon steel. - The blade is finely sharpened with an integrated Hamon line for a particularly authentic appearance. - Handle wrapping made of black cotton in the classic Hineri-Maki style. - Black, high-gloss lacquered scabbard (Kuroro style) made of wood. - With a long tang, which is fixed in the handle with 2 bamboo pegs (Mekugi).
