The NF 10x42 R from the advanced line offers the user high-performance optics with multi-coated lens elements and a large field of view. The integrated laser rangefinder determines the safe distance to game up to 1,200 meters – for more strongly reflecting objects even up to 2,300 meters. With the press of a button, the eye-safe measurement with Class 1 laser is performed with an accuracy of 1 m in just 0.3 seconds. Furthermore, the measurement of moving objects takes place continuously in scan mode. The measurement value is read from the centrally mirrored, red, and very bright OLED display, which can also be clearly recognized against a dark background. If desired, the brightness can be adjusted in six levels.
Thanks to the various measurement modes, a well-thought-out algorithm determines the distance under adverse weather conditions such as light fog or even rain.
Operation is done with just two control buttons. For hunting in mountainous areas, angle measurement has been added. In contrast to conventional direct distance measurement, the ballistic deviation is taken into account in this case, and the angle compensation in meters, along with the shooting angle, is displayed directly in the field of view. With the high-contrast and sharp image from the center to the edge, even the smallest details are recognized!

Miscellaneous: The concept and features of the rangefinder developed in Germany do not look significantly different from other modern roof prism binoculars. Only the two buttons on the front indicate the additional function of the laser distance and angle measurement. The eyecups can be twisted out for glasses wearers and adjusted to the diopter. In addition to the fully twisted-out position, there is also a stop point for a middle position to individually adjust the field of view as best as possible while wearing glasses. All functions of the laser rangefinder can be controlled via the two buttons. This includes the brightness of the red OLED display or the various usage modes. These differ depending on the application area, distance, or weather, such as for hunting, close range, or in rainy weather. In terms of accessories, Noblex has considered everything essential for protecting high-quality optics: This includes an adjustable, comfortable carrying strap with neoprene padding, along with plastic protective caps for the objective and ocular lenses. Additionally, the entire optics are packaged shock-resistant in a zippered hard case made of Cordura.
For practical testing, the binoculars were taken into the field, both in sunlight and in foggy weather and at dusk. The optics weigh 1,040 grams with batteries but without any accessories – making it not lightweight, but manageable in hunting practice. Unlike the pre-series model, our test model for all4hunters.com had an absolutely color-neutral representation.

There was also nothing to complain about regarding image sharpness. Details could be easily recognized even at a distance, and the image remained sharp up to the edge. According to the manufacturer, the laser rangefinder is supposed to measure within 0.3 seconds and with an accuracy of one meter at distances of up to 2,300 meters, depending on how strongly the targeted object reflects the laser. For game, this works according to NOBLEX at distances of up to 1,200 meters. In our own test, measurements of up to around 850 meters were easily possible, and we can imagine that even greater distances (as indicated by Noblex) are achievable. We did not test it in our area.
