Wood Owl Rifle Felt Cartridge Case

In this robust cartridge case made of genuine wool felt, your hunting ammunition is well protected. Unlike leather cases, felt contains no tannins that can attack the cartridge cases and projectiles. Handling during the hunt is completely silent due to the soft material, and for transport, it can be securely closed with a button made of genuine buffalo horn. Additionally, due to its design, there is a small compartment behind the ammunition where small items such as a mouse whistle or a cleaning cloth for optics can be stored. The cartridge case can be conveniently stowed in the pocket of your hunting jacket or hunting backpack.

The Waldkauz cartridge case is available in the versions "Büchse," "Büchsflinte," "Bockbüchsflinte," and "Drilling." Recently, we have also introduced a special model for small caliber ammunition from .22 lfb to .22 Hornet. It is processed with the same care and quality awareness as our other hunting accessories. The button made of buffalo horn is hand-sewn to ensure it does not come off even with frequent hunting use.

The "Büchse" case holds seven rifle cartridges of all common calibers from .222 to 9.3 and Magnum calibers. Behind the cartridges, there is an additional small compartment where a cleaning cloth for optics, a pack of cigarillos, or the mouse whistle can be stored. The case can be securely closed with the button made of genuine buffalo horn.

Fit of our cartridge loops

We work with three long-established loop diameters for our cartridge cases, which cover almost all common calibers with few exceptions. For orientation, here is a range from-to with typical calibers that can be easily compared with your own caliber:

Small loop (small caliber): from .22 lfb to .222 or 5.6x50
Used, for example, in the "Drilling" cartridge cases as the smallest loop (e.g., for .22 Win. Mag., .22 Hornet, .222 Rem.)

Medium loop (large bullet): .222 or 5.6x50 to .338 Win Mag
Suitable for the commonly used "normal" hunting calibers in Germany (e.g., 5.6x50 R Mag., 7x65 R, 8x57 IS, .308 Win, .30-06, .375 H&H, 7mm Remington Mag., etc.)

Large loop (shotgun): from Cal. 20 to Cal. 12
Caliber 20 sits a bit looser than calibers 16 and 12, but it fits as well.
