Beretta 694 Sporting / Sporting AS over-and-under shotgun

The 694 over-and-under shotgun, designed specifically for clay target shooting, was developed and tested with the internationally successful Beretta Shooting Team. It has one clear goal: to help the shooter hit that one decisive clay target.

Thanks to careful, intensive development and engineering, the 694 is a perfectly balanced over-and-under shotgun with optimized mechanical, ergonomic and dynamic properties.

The 694 comes to the shoulder in perfect contact with the target, allows a swing with maximum control and enables precise trigger release at exactly the right moment.

The new shape of the receiver and stock improves visual awareness of what’s happening when mounting the gun, during the swing and when firing. The new forend attachment ensures a consistently tight, adjustable hinge action, while the Steelium Plus barrels deliver excellent patterns and solid hits with both steel and lead shot. The receiver’s distinctive lines give the 694 a unique, particularly dynamic look with a contemporary design.

The stock’s ergonomics have been carefully revised to offer the ideal configuration for each discipline. The stock’s new profile where it meets the receiver features a progressive curve that gives the shooter better peripheral vision and reduces obstruction of the field of view. This makes it easier to focus on the target and center the sight picture, while allowing precise control of the gun and accurate trigger release.

This change also reduces the disadvantageous and faulty tendency of some shooters to lift their head after firing to check where their shot landed.

The Trap version has a standard drop of 29/39 mm. The Trap stock with B-Fast stock adjustment has a standard drop of 35/45 mm. Its comb can be adjusted for height, angle and cast, and raised by up to 10 mm.

The Sporting version has a completely redesigned stock with a steeper grip angle, a fuller grip and a wider comb radius. This provides maximum shooting comfort, with reduced muzzle rise when firing and an extremely natural, stable hand position. The Sporting version has a standard drop of 35/50 mm, while the Sporting stock with B-Fast stock adjustment has a basic drop of 35/55 mm.

The shotguns come with a round forend suitable for all hand sizes and grip styles. Beavertail or Schnabel forends may also be available on request.

Both versions have a stock length of 375 mm when fitted with the 20 mm Microcore® recoil pad and with the trigger blade set to the middle position.

The fine checkering, with 1.5 mm diamond spacing, has an enlarged surface area for a better grip. The selected walnut, with its attractive grain, is protected by a natural oil finish with high water resistance.

The B-Fast stock balancer integrated into the stock allows the balance to be tailored to the shooter’s needs using up to four interchangeable weights (20 or 40 grams).

The new forend attachment has a separate steel hinge that maintains consistent, lasting pressure between the forend and the receiver radius. Its improved geometry and the ability to adjust the pressure through Beretta service ensure consistent opening resistance for many years, without premature rattling. The forend attachment system has also been redesigned and consists of a mechanism separate from the steel hinge.
mus at the front end, the opening slide is self-regulating and therefore also extends the otherwise usual maintenance intervals. The metal surface that rests in the palm has been reduced and also transfers significantly less heat at high temperatures and after many shots.

The newly designed steel receiver has a modern, sporty look. Its raised side surfaces, dynamic lines and elaborately polished bevels make it highly distinctive. The blue inlaid lines and the 694 model designation further enhance this impression. The underside of the receiver is understated yet confident, featuring the famous Beretta Trident logo with its three arrows and the 694 lettering, also inlaid in blue, while the Nistain finish gives the surface its characteristic matte gray color.

The receiver’s weight has been increased by approx. 25 g, further improving stability and balance. The Beretta-style side-lock action, with enlarged side hinge pins, recessed side plates and Beretta locking with conical, self-regulating locking bolts that engage in the side plates, ensures an exceptionally smooth shot with particularly low muzzle flip and mild recoil behavior.

The trigger system features an adjustable trigger blade that locks in three positions, allowing it to be adapted to different hand sizes and finger lengths.

The Sporting version has a selective single trigger with a selector in the ergonomically designed new safety slide. In addition to improved ergonomics, the selector can now only be operated when the safety is engaged, reliably preventing accidental switching.

The steel top lever has a new profile and ergonomic lines, and is easy for left-handed shooters to operate. Its matte anti-reflective coating prevents distractions when acquiring the target.

Steelium barrel technology — Beretta has exceptional expertise in barrel manufacturing. Both the production process and the barrel steel alloy made exclusively for Beretta are unique worldwide. Precision deep drilling followed by additional fine honing, material-compacting cold hammer forging and final vacuum stress relief give the steel the highest possible stability and ideal mechanical properties for outstanding ballistic performance.
