Product Description:
The new Merkel HLX Suppressor by B&T is a hunting silencer in caliber .30 / 7.62 mm or 9.3 mm, which is practically unique in its class. Instead of standard inserts or steel wool, this new silencer works with star baffles. These three-dimensional aluminum machined parts were developed for the law enforcement sector, where silencers must withstand much more than in normal hunting situations. This was precisely the goal that Merkel set – a silencer that is suitable not only for the occasional shot in the field but also for rapid fire sequences during driven hunts and at shooting ranges. In collaboration with the silencer specialist B&T (Thun, Switzerland), a silencer concept has emerged that delivers just that – high durability at practically hunting dimensions. With the HLX Suppressor, 30 shots are certified under normal conditions at the shooting range before it needs to be cooled back down to room temperature. It also reduces recoil when firing.

Note: From a ballistic perspective, the use of silencers with standard hunting ammunition has no effect – the projectile's performance remains the same. The perception of the surroundings is also not affected. Silencers reduce recoil as well as noise at the source. This protects the environment (e.g., hunting dogs) from noise damage. They nearly eliminate muzzle flash, making it easier to perceive the drawing and escape direction of the game in poor light. The silencer should always be removed before pulling through the weapon to avoid damage to the baffles. For cleaning and preserving silencers, penetrating oils are recommended. High-temperature resistant greases are effective for maintaining the threads.
