Many laser rangefinders with the addition of "Hunter Mode" (or "Hunt Mode" / "Jagdmodus") have features that are particularly designed for hunting or outdoor use — meaning not just a pure distance measurement, but also optimized target acquisition, e.g.: Prioritization of distant targets: The laser ignores obstacles in the foreground (e.g. tall grass, branches, underbrush) and instead of providing the distance to the foreground, it outputs the distance to the farther target.
