The new models of the Gen5 have been improved in the following features: New grip: The finger grooves used since 1998 are gone. This change contributes to a better grip feel for some users. Magazine funnel: The grip is slightly "flared" outward. Ambidextrous slide stop lever: Both models are now usable for left- and right-handed shooters alike. New sights: The Gen5 models are equipped with a significantly larger gap between the rear sight and front sight. This results in a much better sight picture, especially under adverse lighting conditions. Modified barrel: The barrel has been revised and is now called GLOCK's Marksman Barrel (GMB) and is intended to ensure improved precision.
