The 8x57 JS is a top-class caliber for distances of up to around 180 m. It is ideal for hunting in the forest and as a driven hunt caliber. Additionally, it is an excellent big game caliber for Central European game. It is also very popular as a universal caliber. With it, one generally experiences less hematoma formation than with fast, weaker calibers.

The 8x57 JS was developed from the old military caliber 8x57 I by increasing the bullet diameter from .318 to .323" (8.08 / 8.20 mm) and received an S in its designation. It was introduced in 1905 and quickly gained favor among hunters.

CINESHOT from RWS is the first special cartridge for shooting cinemas. Thanks to the consistent loading and finely tuned bullet geometry, CINESHOT offers good precision. The special nickel coating minimizes friction in the barrel, allowing for intense training without overheating and intensive cleaning. CINESHOT has sufficient gas pressure and guarantees safe cartridge feeding in all commercially available semi-automatic rifles.

When shooting with conventional rifle ammunition, lead particles are released into the air. Especially during training in indoor shooting ranges, the lead exposure in the immediate vicinity of the shooter is relatively high. RWS CINESHOT ® cartridges prevent this in two ways: Firstly, thanks to the lead-free GreenFire ignition technology, which has been used in NATO-qualified ammunition for years. This means no lead enters the shooter's environment. Additionally, the encapsulated bullet at the rear prevents the detachment of lead particles during firing. With CINESHOT ®, you can pursue your passion without worry and optimally prepare for the hunting season.

The bullet is coated with a special coating to minimize friction in the barrel and thus barrel heating. You can shoot longer and need to clean the rifle barrel significantly less often!
