The Böker Scout has been closely associated with our name since 1985. Whether anyone back then would have expected that this pocket knife would become one of the most successful and popular knives in our program is something no one can say today. However, these many years are certainly a rarity in times of fleeting fashion trends, which are not unusual in the knife market either. The variations of the Scout during this time have likely been as numerous as those of hardly any other model, yet the key specifications have never changed. The extremely stable body made from a single piece of nickel silver is produced using a sintering process and then polished. In sintering, the raw materials are mixed, bonded together through heating, and shaped into the desired form. The hollow-ground blade made of stainless N690 is forged by Böhler and contributes to the incomparable appearance of the Scout with its distinctive shape. A classic backlock takes care of the locking mechanism and keeps the blade securely open. The mechanism hidden inside the handle consists of a bolt lever and a spring. When the blade is opened, the bolt lever engages in a recess of the blade, thereby locking it in place. The rear end of the bolt lever is not completely covered by the handle but is partially exposed on the back of the handle so that it can be operated. When the exposed rear end of the bolt lever is pressed, the hook lifts out of the notch, releasing the lock and allowing the blade to be folded in. The pleasantly shaped handle scales made of real buffalo horn complete the harmonious image of this classic.
