Zome (pronounced "zoh-may") is a classic Japanese method of dyeing textiles that is closely linked to many aspects of the culture and history of this country. Inspired by this artistic heritage, Spyderco's Zome series features unique, hand-dyed variations of popular models with injection-molded FRN handles. The handles of these knives are first shaped in a bright base color and then individually dyed by Japanese artisans. A technique reminiscent of traditional Hiki-Zome (brush dyeing). In this meticulous method, different colors of dye are hand-brushed onto the handle to create distinctive, unique patterns that penetrate the FRN material.
