Gary Groves from West Virginia is a knife maker of the old school. As a boy, he spent a lot of time in nature, and his passion for knives was ignited by a gift from his father, who gave him a handmade knife made from an old saw blade when he was a child. After his service in Vietnam, Gary began working as a miner in the coal mines, and due to the intense demands of his job, he hardly had time to pursue his hobby.

A serious accident in the mine in 2002 and the resulting inability to work turned his life upside down overnight. After a brief period of orientation, he began to dedicate himself more intensively to knife making. In 2007, he met his mentor Leon Peal, who was a great support on his path to becoming a full-time knife maker. Since then, Gary Groves has become an integral part of the classic knife maker scene. As a member of the American Knifemaker's Guild and the American Bladesmith Society, his works are regularly admired in various specialty magazines, and his preference for classic Bowies and Fighters is clearly reflected in our Magnum Collection 2019.

The curvy blade with the straight spine gives the Magnum Collection 2019 a very special dynamism, and the slightly curved handle with the generously sized guard element provides the knife with pronounced maneuverability. The false edge on the blade spine not only reduces the weight and perfects the balance of the knife but also emphasizes the unique line design. The handle is made of canvas micarta, which is used in black and burgundy, and is further framed by polished spacers.

Thus, while the Magnum Collection 2019 is influenced by traditional models, it still finds its own expression through the handwriting of Gary Groves and impresses with its successful execution. The blade is made of 440C and is highly polished, as is the stainless steel guard. The Magnum Collection 2019 is limited to 1,999 pieces worldwide.
